Ultra-super-fast, 5kV diodes in an SMD Package

The SMF and SXF family of diodes are unique in that they are hermetically sealed diodes over molded in a repeatable, pick-and-placeable epoxy package.

The advantages of the over molded package include repeatability, increased isolation voltage, and hermeticity normally reserved only for glass body type devices. Unlike other epoxy devices, the SXF and SMF diodes can run in oil or other dielectric fluids without reducing reliability.

The epoxy package provides more isolation between leads than a regular, axial-leaded device, and because the body dimensions are so repeatable, the diodes are easily placed on a board.

The SMF6529 is an over molded version of the industry standard, high voltage 1N6529 diode. Likewise, the SXF6525 is an over molded version of the 1N6535 diode.

The diodes are rated up to 5kV, 500ma, and 30ns.

The ever-popular SMF6533 diode can handle 5kV, and is readily available in high quantities.

In a slightly larger package size is the SXF20FF3 - 2kV, 420mA, 30ns diode. It has a faster recovery time, and can handle higher current.

VMI diodes are tested 100%.
